POLIPECTOMÍA
La polipectomía es un procedimiento terapéutico ambulatorio que le permitirá al médico extraer pólipos (pequeños tumores de la superficie mucosa del aparato digestivo) mientras se realiza una endoscopía, colonoscopia o enteroscopía.
Para la realización de este procedimiento, además de los endoscopios, se necesitan varios accesorios adicionales que incluyen: unidad electro quirúrgica (con la cual se corta y se cauteriza el tejido donde estaba el pólipo), agujas inyectoras, asa de polipectomía, endoclips, entre otros.
- Debe advertir a su médico los medicamentos que utiliza. Algunos de ellos tienen que deber ser suspendidos hasta días antes del examen.
- Debe advertir a su médico si sospecha de estar embarazada.
- Antes de una polipectomía debe seguir detalladamente las INSTRUCCIONES DE LIMPIEZA INTESTINAL que se le han dado.
- Si un paciente no tiene un intestino sucio, no se puede hacer una polipectomía, y en algunas oportunidades tiene que ser hasta reprogramado.
- Debe acudir a su cita, 30 minutos antes de su cita.
El paciente sometido a polipectomía endoscópica debe permanecer en reposo relativo, por una semana, sin hacer ejercicios violentos, ni caminar largas distancias, ni correr, ni levantar pesos. Seguirá una dieta especial, comenzando a ingerir alimentos con lentitud. Regresará a su actividad habitual generalmente al día siguiente.
